Cobb Lifetime Achievement Awardees
Each year The Cobb Institute awards the W. Montague Cobb Lifetime Achievement Award and the the Cato T. Laurencin M.D. Ph.D. Lifetime Research Award. Recipients of these awards are honored at the Opening and Awards Ceremony of the NMA Convention and Scientific Assembly and presented by the Executive Director and the Chair of the Steering and Oversight Committee for The Cobb Institute. A W. Montague Cobb Reception in their honor is also held on the evening of each W. Montague Cobb Scientific Symposium and Lectureship held at the Convention. W. HHS Launches National Public Education Campaign Ahead of Respiratory Virus Season. Campaign provides evidence-based information on vaccines for flu, COVID-19, and RSV. WASHINGTON (AUGUST 19, 2024) — The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) launched a new national campaign today to inform the public about common respiratory viruses and available vaccines. The campaign, Risk Less. Do More., aims to increase awareness of vaccines that reduce serious illness from influenza (flu), COVID-19, and respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) in high-risk populations and to limit the spread of these viruses among all Americans. The Cobb Institute is serving as campaign partner.

Equitable Breakthroughs in Medicine Development (EQBMED) and the W. Montague Cobb Institute are thrilled to announce a strategic partnership aimed at creating an equitable and more diverse clinical trial landscape, from participant to provider. As part of this collaboration with EQBMED, the W. Montague Cobb Institute will develop training sessions, webinars, and workshops, to train and retain health care providers and researchers, while creating a pathway for medical students and young professionals to enter the field of clinical trial research. By collaborating with medical education programs, EQBMED and the W. Montague Cobb Institute aim to inspire the next generation of clinical researchers and increase diversity within the field.

The Movement is Life Summit is a collaborative event bringing together stakeholders from diverse backgrounds to discuss health equity challenges and actionable solutions.
